My husband and I founded Mountain Goat Adventures in 2010 and strive to provide memorable, exciting events that promote an active lifestyle. As a racer myself, I know what aspects of racing events are the most frustrating when not handled properly, so I’ve made it my mission to put together events that offer a great experience, a challenging and well marked course, awesome swag you can actually use, reasonable event pricing, as well as a high level of organization at each event. All of our events feature chip timing and INSTANT real-time results. Upon finishing, you can check your finish time and category placing.

Since its inception, Mountain Goat Adventures has raised over $160,000 for various SORBA Chapters and trail maintenance groups through our events, with SORBA Woodstock being our largest benefactor. We feel that supporting these groups is of utomost importance to the longevity of our sports, and many miles of new trails have been built because of these donations. Thank you for participating and helping to make the magic happen!

About the owner, Lisa Randall

Graduating with highest honors from Georgia Tech in 2000, I worked full time as a civil engineer while juggling a heavy training and racing schedule. I entered the professional mountain bike ranks in 2004 after 2.5 years of racing. In 2006, I discovered a new addiction, Adventure Racing, and have competed in dozens of multisport races ranging from 3 hours to 5 days. Whie still competing in cycling events and adventure races, I added trail running into the mix. I have had the opportunity to complete the TransRockies Mountain Bike Stage Race as well as the Trans North Georgia Mountain Bike Race, a 350 mile non-stop MTB race across the mountains of North Georgia. In 2015, I was proud to earn a stars and stripes jersey at the Marathon Mountain Bike National Championships. I participate in orienteering and have even dabbled in some 50K running events. I am happiest on my bike but generally just love to be outdoors.

My passion for athletics, competition and the outdoors led to my voluntary resignation from the engineering profession and the creation of Mountain Goat Adventures. Following my vision to produce the types of events that I would personally like to compete in, Mountain Goat Adventures will bring racers to 8 exciting venues in 2022.

The creation of Mountain Goat Adventures has allowed me to share my passion with like minded people, as well as given me a chance to really give back to the organizations that provide some of the best trail systems in the Northwest Metro Atlanta area. Between myself, my family members, and some great volunteers, we have logged hundreds of hours of trail maintenance in conjunction with our events, as well as thousands of dollars in donations to trail groups.

Thanks for reading and we hope to see you at some of our events!

Why choose a Mountain Goat Adventures Event?

Race courses set by a racer. Over the past twenty years I have competed in hundreds of events including mountain bike races, trail runs, adventure races, triathlons, duathlons, etc. I know what makes a great course and strive to set courses that will be enjoyable and memorable for all participants. I like to bring racers to new venues and trails that they may not be familiar with. I want you to be challenged at our events, because it will provide better memories for you. At Mountain Goat Adventures, we want to provide you with the whole experience, rather than just a race venue.

Cool swag - let's face it, we all love race swag and I'm always on the lookout for neat, new items to help remember your race day experience.

We give back to the community in a huge way. Since the inception of MGA, over $160,000 has been donated to various SORBA Chapters and other trail maintenance groups in conjunction with our events.

No transfer fees - We want to encourage you to sign up early, so we don't think it is fair to then charge you to transfer to another racer in the same event if you do it by the cutoff. We understand that injuries happen or sometimes you just didn't have time to train so we try to make the transfer process as hassle free as possible.

Shirts for all - We understand that many will not step onto the podium, and that your event shirt is the next best badge of honor. We try our best to estimate shirt sizes that may be needed for late registrants and keep a reserve of MGA logo shirts to ensure that everyone that signs up for one of our events receives a t-shirt of some kind.

Fast results and award ceremonies! All of our events have real-time results - no waiting around for an updated results printout. You can view your race time and placing on tablets immediately upon finihsing. We also know you don't want to wait around 3 hours for awards so we strive to get you up on the podium as quickly as possible.

Lots of support crew for registration, parking, and course marshaling to ensure you don't spend long waiting in line and to ensure everyone's safety out on the course.
