What will the Course Be Like?

The race will be bike, run, bike format.

The two biking sections will be approximately 5.5 miles each and take place on the Taylor Randahl Memorial Mountain Bike Trails. The bike course will run clockwise on the Mill Trails and counterclockwise on the Avalanche Trail, and include all three trail loops. The run will be approximately 3.3 miles and will take place on the Explorer trail on the south side of the river, just past I-575. The run will also be in the counterclockwise direction, and includes the loop that is across the paved road near the pump station.

The start of the race will be on bikes on the concrete bike path in the park. Start will be staggered by category at 1.5-2 minute intervals.

We expect that the overall winning time will be around 1 hour and 25 minutes.

2017 Duathlon and Trail Run Course Map

For those that are competing in the Trail Run only, the course will be the same run course used in the Duathlon, and it is 3.3 miles. It will take place on the Explorer trail on the south side of the river, just past I-575. The run will be in the counterclockwise direction, and includes the loop that is across the paved road near the pump station.

If you are pre-riding for the event, please check the SORBA Woodstock website for trail open/closed status before heading out.  Also note that due to day/direction, you will not be able to pre-ride BOTH the Avalance and Mill Trails in race direction on the same day.
